A question we are often asked when out performing drone aerial imaging work is – “if a drone flies over my house can I shoot it down?”. It’s important to understand that the skies are like a interstate highway and the landowner does not own the heavens above their property. If someone is being a nuisance with their drone close to your home, the best course of action is to call the police and report the incident. There are already plenty of laws on the books to address these types of issues without taking drastic action on your own part. Shooting down a drone could get you jail time and you may be responsible for replacing the damaged equipment.
